Coffee Drink Recipes

Coffee Drink Recipes You Can Make at Home

Whether you are looking to save some cash on your daily dose of caffeine, or you want to impress your friends at your next dinner party, these easy do-it-yourself coffee drink recipes are a great way to add some dazzle to your day.

South America – Dulce de Leche

Often made thick enough to spread on toast, this South American favorite is a snap to make at home. Mix a cup of very strong, very hot coffee with enough of this easy caramel sauce to taste: take a 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk, unopened, and fully submerge it in a pot of water. Bring to a boil and keep it going for between 90 minutes and three hours, depending on how thick you want it.

Be sure to keep the can entirely under water for the whole time it is boiling. Allowing the water level to drop below the top of the can sometimes causes it to explode.

Caribbean – Cajun Molasses & Rum Coffee

This after-dinner drink is great with dessert – a delicious way to wrap up a lovely meal with friends and family. Heat three cups of hot coffee with six tablespoons of molasses, then stir gently until they are completely dissolved. Add a tablespoon of rum to each coffee mug, then pour in your coffee/molasses concoction. A dollop of whipped cream on the top makes it extra-special.

France – Café con Miel

For a mid-afternoon treat or a light dessert, try this gift from the French. Gently warm two cups of hot coffee, half a cup of milk, and four tablespoons of honey in a saucepan. Stir frequently, and do not allow the mixture to boil. Add ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract and ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon, along with a sprinkle of nutmeg just before serving.

You don’t have to go out to enjoy great coffee. With these quick and easy recipes you will save time and money.
