I have had 2 electric percolators. One was this Hamilton Beach. The problem is, after maybe 1 month, the coffee is like brown water. The water boils, but the pot only percolates for a short amount of time. If I want stronger coffee I must double the amount of coffee. I have a camping percolator that makes wonderful coffee on the stovetop. I can use 1 table spoon per cup and it turns out great. Of course, I get to determine when it has percolated enough. So I do not like the Hamilton Beach coffee maker and am trying to modify it.
