Cuisinart DGB500 Summary: Since this is a grind and brew model, it will need more maintenance than other coffee makers. You will need to do more cleaning than with other machines. They have more moving parts so they will wear out sooner than regular drip coffee makers. But it does come with a 3 year warranty, so if it gives out during that time, just return it for a new one. Since you grind the beans immediately before brewing, you get fresher and tastier brewed coffee. This model has several improvements over previous units. It has a smaller footprint so it takes up less counter space. The pieces are separated and they will drip less so they are easier to clean. Has a built-in water filter making fresher water with less impurities and bad taste. The unit costs less than previous models. For some people the coffee won't be hot enough, but you can make hotter water by pressing the 1-4 cup setting which will preheat the water making it Hot enough for anyone. For all the added features and the space saving design this model is very reasonably priced.
