Answer:

Mountain High Premium Coffee from Vietnam: I've bought this coffee and it's delicious, non-acidy and I love the Hazelnut flavor. But, is this coffee safe to drink? Is it contaminated in any way with pesticides, toxins of any kind (as might be a residual of the Vietnam War)? Are there any strict laws for importing coffee into the U.S.?

Answer:
It is my understanding that food products are inspected and checked out before entering the USA. I cannot say for certain, but I am assuming that imported food items have to meet the same standards as food that is made here in the United States. Keep in mind that coffee beans are not grown anywhere in the domestic United States, but only in Hawaii. So all coffee beans come from overseas and must be inspected upon arrival at customs.
