Cleaning Coffee Maker

Cleaning Coffee Maker With Vinegar & Water

In order to have great tasting coffee, you need first, great coffee. Secondly, but just as important, you need a clean coffee maker. Without both of these great coffee is not going to happen. So, buy great coffee and clean your drip coffee maker at least once a month, more if you use it several times a day. Cleaning will remove all the built up oils from previously brewed coffee, and also get rid of those hard to remove mineral deposits from your hard water. Unless of course, you use distilled water, but let's face it, most of use don't.

Ok, now down to the cleaning process. Actually, it is fairly simple and inexpensive.

How to Clean Coffee Maker With Vinegar

You use a mixture of two parts water and one part vinegar, enough to fill the entire pot, then pour this mixture into the water reservoir and turn your drip coffee maker on. Then just let the coffeemaker run through its cycle until finished. Then let it stand and cool off for around 15 to 20 minutes or so. After this you can dispose of the mixture by pouring it down your drain. The mixture is eco-friendly and won't harm the water system.

If you haven't cleaned your coffeemaker in awhile, you may need to repeat this process with a fresh mixture of vinegar and water and run through the cycle again. Once you have determined that the coffee maker is clean, then you need to rinse it out with plain warm water. After that pour plain water into your water reservoir until it is full, and then run through the cycle again until it is finished. Once finished, do the clean water cycling process again. This should have thoroughly cleaned and rinsed your coffee maker so you can make fresh, great tasting coffee once again.

Just remember to repeat this process monthly, or sooner if needed, and you will always have great tasting coffee to drink.
