Sour Cream Coffee Cake Recipe

While a Sour Cream Coffee Cake may not sound like an appetizing treat for your first meal of the day, it actually is. This cake can make any morning brighter with its delicious taste. Why should you just settle for the usual toast and coffee?

We couldn't think of a reason either. Breakfast is, after all, the most important meal of the day, so why can't you enjoy it? Give yourself something different to make the morning better. You will not regret it.

Sour Cream Coffee cakes may be the perfect way to finish an afternoon tea with your friends, but they are also great ways to begin the day. And a sour cream coffee cake ranks among the best.

This moist, rich treat will tempt even the most devoted of grapefruit fans or cereal people. One whiff of its scent wafting through the house will send the family running to the breakfast table--an extra bonus for those looking to spend more time with an ever busy group. This cake is sure to bring all of the family back to breakfast.

So what makes this cake so good? It is quite simple, really. The ingredients you use make it unbelievably moist and delicious. It makes eating something to look forward to.

By mixing sour cream with vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon, you can create a morning food that anyone can enjoy, and that everyone will love. This cake is perfect at the breakfast table.

It must be noted, however, that having this for breakfast every morning is not the wisest of choices. The sour cream coffee cake, while tasty, is also high in fat. You will enjoy it for breakfast, but you will probably not enjoy the extra pounds that come from eating too much of it.

Of course, this should not be too much of a problem; you already know of the dangers of eating in excess. This is not some groundbreaking idea. You just need to remember that something that tastes that good does for a reason: sugar.

And that can cause a problem if you eat too much too often. So, you just need to learn not to gorge yourself on cake, or any other food for that matter. See this as an exercise in moderation.

An exercise you have to pass, of course.

This cake is a perfect way to start your morning. Brew a pot of coffee and cut yourself a slice of this. Perhaps waking up, even with work looming before you, won't seem so bad now.

Try this!

1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup butter
3 eggs, separated
1 cup sour cream, dairy
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Cream 1c sugar and butter. Add egg yolks and s.cream. Beat until light and fluffy. Add flour, baking powder and baking soda. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in. Pour batter into a greased and floured Bundt pan. Sprinkle with topping made of 1/4 c sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Dot with extra butter. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Allow to cool in pan for 15 minutes before turning out.

And, since this cake can be made in less than an hour (and that includes cooling), you can wake up, mix the ingredients and then go about your business until it is ready. Just make sure to give yourself time to actually enjoy your sour cream coffee cake. You don't need to rush through the morning, especially with this waiting for you. That defeats the point of actually enjoying breakfast.
