Malfunctioning Clock

by Tina
(Marion, IN, USA)

I also dealt with the incorrect template & mounting hardware issue on the Black and Decker SDC740B SpaceMaker 12-Cup Coffeemaker.

The Perfect Pour glass carafe, does not perfectly pour! I had a water spill from the reservoir and now the digital clock is not displaying the correct time. I think the clock is still functioning internally, just the display appears to be damaged.

I have been instructed to return the plug-in and 3" of the cord, and $7.50 for S & H for a replacement coffeemaker to be sent to me.

I am not sure I want a replacement, since this model seems to have issues with the water reservoir. Has anyone tried sealing the reservoir?

Seems like a waste to not fix the clock display & reservoir issue & cut the cord to render the unit completely useless. Then also, there's the carafe issue, so I it seems the unit would need a lot of repair to function as intended. Black & Decker Customer Service informed me the company has closed all repair facilities.

Same issues. The valve for the "sneak a cup" locks closed, overflowing coffee all over the heating element and all over the counter. Have you ever had to clean up wet coffee grounds? Finally disconnected this feature. Then the handle on the carafe broke at the seams. Replace ment carafe is $23. The fill water feature is a nightmare - we can only hope they fired the engineer who designed this product. Probably worked for NASA at one time. iodineAvoid this product.
