It is made of solid heavy metal, not plastic. The bean carafe and grind carafe are made of glass. You don't have that static from plastic that is so annoying. You have no mess from the static. You get an instruction book that is well written and easy to follow. For a grinder, the machine is extremely quiet. You have more than 15 grind settings providing you with numerous selections for any type of coffee maker. Not that it is needed, but you get a two year guarantee which gives you even more peace of mind.
Glass parts are easy to clean as they are dishwasher safe. If for some reason you need to replace the glass parts or the burrs, they have replacement parts available.
You will immediately notice that your coffee tastes much better than before. This is even if you used other brand grinders before, or if you used coffee grinds that were pre-ground.
