This coffeemaker is larger capacity than your standard machine with a 14 cup capacity. Has fairly standard features such as the automatic 24 hour programming so that you can have a fresh cup of coffee when you wake up in the morning. Other features include push button controls, automatic shut off, pause brew feature, and an indicator for informing you the coffee is ready. Pretty standard stuff. Also comes with Cuisinart's standard gold tone filter for better tasting brew and a charcoal water filter to eliminate chlorine and other impurities in the water.

The Cuisinart DCC-2200 14-Cup Coffeemaker has a brushed stainless steel housing with a pause and serve function. Measures a height of 13 7/8", length of 8 3/8" and a depth of 8". Comes with Cuisinart's standard 3 year warranty and weighs approx. 8 pounds.

Once the brewing is finished the Cuisinart DCC-2200 gives you "beep" alert. Some customers become annoyed with this feature. Also has a brew-pause function which allows you to get a cup of coffee in mid-brew rather than waiting for the complete brewing cycle to finish. Unit has a simple on/off button. Also has a clock but many customers complained that it is very difficult to see since it doesn't light up. Recommended that Cuisinart had a light to the clock in the future. The coffeemaker has a large carafe handle and uses 1025 watts.

The vast majority of customers really liked this unit with the exception of the above mentioned clock. Another plus stated quite often in reviews is the added capacity of 14 cups versus 12. Another positive customers noted was the 1-4 cup feature for this unit. Almost every customer review stated that the brewed coffee tasted great. Some asked that the coffee could be hotter however.

Some other features of the Cuisinart DCC-2200 Brew Central 14-Cup Coffeemaker not mentioned yet include a self cleaning cycle and control over how long the heating plate remains on. Almost noise free brewing which is the reason for the "beep" at the end of the brewing cycle.

One of the negatives of the Cuisinart DCC-2200 mentioned is the absolute lack of response from Cuisinart when contacting them about problems. Seems that their customer service is somewhat lacking and needs upgrading. Another negative was the slower than normal brewing cycle. Apparently it takes longer than most other brands to complete the brewing cycle.

One customer mentioned that the plastic lid for the carafe is hard to get on. Also, it has to be completely removed, it doesn't have a hinge. Overall, the vast majority of reviews are positive and they would buy the unit again.
