This coffee maker makes HOT coffee. I know, they all make hot coffee, but this unit makes it hot enough to satisfy just about any coffee drinker, unlike most other brewers. Carafe is very sturdy and fits into the square body of the coffeemaker very securely so that none of it is outside the housing, preventing it from being knocked loose by an accidental bump or brushing up against it. Pouring is dripless without any leaking on the sides while pouring. The conical basket will accept most, but not all gold tone filters and also accepts #4 paper filters. Both clock and timer are easily programmed. Because everyone likes their coffee at a different temperature, Cuisinart made the carafe warmer so that it can be set to low, medium, or high. Brewing is fast, finished in less than a minute per cup. For small households or individuals, there is a setting for 1 to 4 cups of coffee. To let you know when brewing is completed the unit will beep 5 times. Parts are easy to clean as they are top rack dishwasher safe. You can also improve the water quality for brewing with the water filter system integrated into the unit. Expect it to last a long time as it comes with a 3 year warranty.
