The handle is a durable plastic loop and the kettle has a lid that lifts off for easy cleaning and pouring. You get a removable scale filter and an on/off switch that is simple to use. To clean all you do is wipe it off with a cloth. Comes with a 2 year warranty and the unit measures 10.5 inches x 10.5 inches x 7 4/5 inches. When the kettle is filled with water it is rather heavy at around six pounds. The kettle also is a bit expensive and you would expect all metal parts which it isn't. You can get something just as good or better for a much cheaper price. Once you get it you realize that it has warnings written on it all the way around. Doesn't bother me, but it may bother some people. So, if things like this would annoy you, don't get this kettle. Otherwise, it is a very nice Bodum Water Kettle that has a capacity of 59 ounces of liquid. This is a whistling kettle, so if you prefer one that doesn't whistle, don't get this one. The glass is heat resistant borosilicate glass and the lid is made of stainless steel. You get a comfortable and cool to the touch blue plastic grip and a silicone lid gasket and ball. You can use this on just about any type of stove including wood burning, electric, ceramic, and gas stoves. Don't use it on induction type stoves. Once the lid is removed it is microwave safe. Easy to clean as all the parts are safe to put in your dishwasher. The kettle is cool to the touch and the water boils in about four minutes. It holds up to 57 ounces of fluids. Constructed of polypropylene plastic with a copper sheathed, nickel plated heating element. Basically this is a reasonably priced kettle that boils water for one to make soup, coffee, tea, or anything that needs boiled water. Plus, it comes in a wide variety of wonderful colors.
